Tool 9

The screencast could be used in different ways:
1. To select an image that you want to work with and enhance certain relevant characteristics that are tied to the lesson. Let the students use the info for a specific task. (Example: measuring perimeter)
2. Show students images of landscapes that may be unknown to them due to their lack of personal experience and opportunities. (Bays, canyons, mountains, etc.)
3. Select specific parts of a video that you might want them to watch so they can discuss the content.
4. I would limit video download because it takes to much time.

I used Skype in the past. It is a perfect example of how technology has delivered an alternate service. It could be used to create a giant district wide link to discuss a topic at all fourth grades at a specific time...For example. What were the benefits of the arrival of Columbus to America. It can also show students that internet phone is cheaper than traditional service.
